Lecture Summary

The lecture will cover the contemporary state of affairs on screening, diagnosing, assessing, and treating individuals with alcohol problems. Emphasis will be placed on state-of-the-art techniques on motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral treatment and relationship enhancement therapies for the treatment of alcohol problems. Recent evidence demonstrating the utility of both assessment and intervention devices with alcohol dependent patients will be discussed.
