FASDSG Meetings

The annual meeting of the FASD Study Group will be held on
Saturday, July 7th, at the Hyatt Regency, Chicago Illinois.

The theme of this year’s FASD Study Group meeting is:
 “FASD Intervention:  Multifaceted Research”

We have a lively and informative program again this year.

  • Three innovative keynote speakers from outside our membership will address timely topics related to FASD intervention. The mix of speakers should be of interest to basic scientists, investigators working with animal models, and clinical researchers. We hope these speakers provoke discussion about promising directions for early detection and approaches to FASD intervention. Although subject to minor change, topics so far include:
    •
    • Potential for experience-dependent CNS change after alcohol-induced injury
    • Multidimensional early intervention impacting both behavioral function and neural substrates
    • "Lessons learned" for FASD from prevention science and treatment research on related disabilities
    • Improving developmental progress through early intervention

  • FASt Data abstracts giving insights into new and cutting edge research findings
  • Updates from federal agencies on research portfolios and strategic plans
  • Presentations by an award-winning distinguished researcher and a student investigator of merit in the field of FASD

Keynote Speakers: Presentation titles to be posted soon
